Register Now For The Greenstreet Caffeine Cat race presented by Masi Bikes

Posted on June 04, 2016 by Bentley Swan

On June 10th, 2016, Cyclists will participate in a free-for-all-bike race to visit participating coffee shops, purchase an espresso shot and obtain a sticker proving their visit. The first female and first male cyclist back at Greenstreet with every sticker will win a Masi Fixed Riser Single Speed Bicycle.

There is no entry fee. Register here. We ask that you review our Rider Safety & Etiquette Guidelines in advance. Pell Duvall from Omaha Bikes will be at the shop at 5:30 to present these guidelines. All entrants will need to sign the Greenstreet Event Liability Waiver in advance of your participation. You can print this form off in advance and bring it in to help ensure a timely start.

Four to five coffee shops will be announced and the competitors can decide the route they will take. Competitors must purchase an espresso at each participating coffee shop. Once they have purchased an espresso they will be given a sticker proving that they had been there. A photo must be taken of the beverage with a Greenstreet Cycles logo in the picture to further prove that they were there. Participants are encouraged to share these photos with #caffeinecat, #masibikes #greenstreetcycles and tag participating coffee shops.

The “most entertaining” male and female cyclist will each receive a Specialized Prevail helmet ($200 value). This category will be judged by the baristas at Mug Life Coffee with input from other participating coffee shops.

Riders will be given until 9:00 p.m. to return with stickers, at which point the awards ceremony will begin. Post race festivities will include live music, refreshments and libations with a $5 suggested donation to Omaha Bikes.

Registration

Registration for the Caffeine Cat is now open.

Riders who have not registered in advance could be faced with a late start. Leave yourself enough time for registration and to be at the start line by 5:50 pm.

For pre-registration stop into Greenstreet Cycles anytime prior to the event date during regular business hours.

Rules, Guidelines and Manners

Barista’s will have the discretion whether or not to distribute stickers to participants. If the competitor is rude to the barista and attempts to cut in line or rush other patrons, they may not be awarded a sticker. It is at the participant’s choosing if they consume the shot of espresso or not. It still must be purchased in order to receive a sticker. Riders may not call ahead to a coffee shop to order. All coffee shops have been alerted and will make drinks in the order competitors arrive.

Riders must sign a liability waiver to participate at their own risk. All cycling traffic laws must be observed. We ask that all riders review our safety and etiquette guidelines in advance. If anything is deemed out of line then the competitor will risk being disqualified. Keep it clean, safe and have fun!
