This Sunday's adventure takes us along scenic Iowa byways to the Twisted Tail Bar & Grill. We will meet up at 9:00a.m. at Mug Life and depart when soon thereafter. Total distance will be 61.5 miles. The Route Out is 29.6 miles and the Route Back will be 31.9 miles.
This is a no drop ride. A ride leader will work with you at your pace. Since this ride is over 60 miles, we are asking riders to have completed at least a 40-50 mile ride earlier in the season.
See you hogs on the road!
The forecast for tomorrow is possible rain and cloudy weather. These April showers have been keeping fair-weather riders off the road more than we'd like.
Even though the weather might not be "perfect" - we're gonna meet at Mug Life and make it happen! Join us at 9 a.m. Our ride out this week will take us to the town of McClelland, IA, where there are no restaurants open on Sundays. So, we'll head back along our 24.3 mile return route to grab a lunch at Barley's in historic downtown Council Bluffs.
Total ride distance 47.1 miles total climbing 1,765 feet. Our goal will be to return to Mug Life before 2 p.m.
The ride is on. This week we will be celebrating the re-opening of the paved trail leading from the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge to the Wabash Trace. We will leave from the shop at 9a.m. and head southeast into Silver City, Iowa.
We will probably roll into town before any restaurants are open, so we'll take a short break, breathe in the beauty and head back to Minneola for lunch at Tobey Jack's Steak House!
The route will be an out and back affair totaling approximately 55 miles. If you ride with the group we could return between 2p.m. and 3p.m. You could finish earlier if you skipped brunch and/or rode ahead.
Get ready!
Meet us at the shop this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for a beautiful ride to Bennington, Nebraska! We should be back at the shop between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
We'll eat at the Warehouse, the only establishment open in Bennington on Sundays other than the gas station and Runza. We tested this place and it's sure to give us an authentic Bennington experience.
We're forecast to have beautiful riding weather. No promise on wind but we usually get a tail wind at least one way. This week's ride will be right at 40 miles including a slow roll down Bennington's historic main street. We will take a vote as to whether to ride around Bennington Lake, works the meal off a bit and add five miles.
Here's a route map. To head back we'll take a similar route but stay on Rainwood and 96th St instead of through Cunningham and Bennington Rd.
Greetings to all. Tomorrow we will have a special service - short and early. We will leave the shop at 9 a.m. and head out to Hazel Dell Methodist Church in Hazel Dell Township, IA.
This will give everyone time to relax and enjoy the Easter Holiday.
Sunday marks our second adventure ride and this time we are venturing up into Fort Calhoun which will be lead by Ben. We will be eating our brunch at the Rustic Inn. Total milage will be 34 miles with 1500 ft of elevation gain. Route in link below.

We will be leaving the shop at 10 A.M. be a little early to make sure you don't miss the train. We are expected to be back by 1 P.M. with 2 P.M. being the absolute latest.
Here's a shot of the crew from last week's brunch adventure.
